I live in a gated 55+ complex of 600 people in 14 buildings.(fox Hills)For the last 2 years our building has had a New Years Eve dinner party at Pizza Rustica. It's only 3 miles from the complex. It checks all the essential boxes. It's BYOB,no steps, open till 9PM on New Years Eve, It can accomodate up to 75 people. This is a wonderful Italian restaurant -not just a pizza place. ! Carlos is the owner and he will work with you to set up your group. Suggesting a Prix Fixed menu with everything from antipasto salad/ Choice of one entree,/ bread, zeppolis/ coffee & tea. (They can even offer gluten free pasta) Everyone was more than pleased with items such as shrimp Scampi, veal marsala, Chicken Florentine.Prices are very reasonable and the wait staff is super. Love the food here the pizza is delicious definitely one of a kind. It's local and the service is nice and helpful. The ambiance has a cozy home type of feel. Definitely one of my go to spots for pizza and a good penne pasta love the sauce.
Stopped in for some quick slices to go on Halloween. Staff was super friendly and helpful laying out what slices they had. 1. Four Cheese: This slice is a decadent, cheesy experience with every bite but not overwhelming. The blend of mozzarella, Parmesan, ricotta, and cheddar with their crispy and unique crust is a great combo! 2. Chicken Francese: Wow! this slice is buttery and zesty. The lemony, garlicky sauce gives the chicken a fresh brightness. This will be a go to! 3. Drunken Grandma: Solid slice but was hoping the slice was saucier. Could just be me Chicken Fajita: This slice is a fun fusion of Mexican and Italian flavors. Seasoned chicken, tomatoes, and scallions., it's flavorful and I appreciate the use of scallion instead of onions which can be over powering at times. Would definitely recommend to the specialty slice lover!
My review from 7 years ago was when the pizza spot was under a different owner and name. Pizza Rustica is by far the best pizza in Rockaway. There were several hiccups a year or so ago with our delivery and pickup order constantly being wrong due to a language barrier, but since then no issues at all. Dominic who works there is the best, always helpful and courteous.
Food is consistently good. Staff is friendly. They make an awesome chopped chicken cutlet salad brushetta- sooo good!!
Always searching for new pizzerias, I stopped in for lunch at Pizza Rustica yesterday. This restaurant is located in a strip mall off Main Street in Rockaway. There's plenty of parking in the lot in front. The place is big inside with plenty of seating. The counter is on the right with a few small tables. To the left is a large dining room. I always love when there's plenty of choices of pies for slices, and they had an excellent selection here. I chose a slice of broccoli rabe with sausage. That combo is great and you don't find that on pies too often. Very friendly server behind the counter giving details on other pies. It was a fun stop and I definitely recommend!
Antipasto Salad.....Italian Sub...5 star! Excellent food, excellent prices, very nice wait staff and owner. I love the eggplant rustica with their delicious vodka sauce.
Really good pizza, ton of varieties and they do them pretty well - wraps are good too! And super nice people!
Great Pizza, Great Place, Great People and the Wings are pretty damn good too!! So far I've tried their Grandma Pizza, Chicken Parmesan Pizza, and their version of Buffalo Wings and found everything to be on point and totally delicious in every way. At first I thought it'd be alot smaller inside than it is but they have it split into two sections, on the right is the pickup ordering counter with a few small tables and on the left side is a larger dinning room area with the kitchen in back, it's a pretty cool spot for lunch or dinner. They also do a decent amount of delivery business so keep that in mind if you ever find yourself stuck to the couch or under house arrest for some shenanigans that you did or didn't do. .. I've already said way too much. Lol!! Come And Get Your Munch On, or Get It Delivered!!
